Dedication is a tribute to Black history icons who have made their mark in the cause of civil rights, music, sports and American culture. The band plays a musical tribute that highlights each persons life and is part of their legacy. A short but comprehensive three- to four-minute bio video is shown prior to the song to give the audience some history and context for the featured Black history icon.
Featuring Birmingham’s own jazz legend, Eric Essix, students will dive into a wonderful history lesson with popular songs dedicated to the legacy of our most brilliant historical legends. The show is approxi- mately 45 minutes long with a Q and A following with the band.
